CoinJar bitcoin buying/selling service probably expanding to NZ next year

CoinJar is a pretty nice looking Aussie website selling and buying bitcoins. In this article, it said "In addition, CoinJar is preparing for international expansion, he said. New Zealand will probably be first and others will follow in the second quarter of the 2014 calendar year".

Security Update at Coinjar Bitcoin Exchange

A phishing website, "coinjar.me" and its variant "coinjar.be" (WARNING: visit at your own risk), have been brought to our attention. They have purchased Google AdWords ad placements diverting some unsuspecting customers to the site and we believe they are using details acquired to access user accounts. As a response to our first major phishing incident, we have introduced a new Multi-Factor Authentication system that is more user friendly and universally accessible. If you already have Two-Factor Authentication enabled before, your previous 2FA credentials would have been automatically migrated to the new MFA system. We strongly recommend everyone to take the time to set it up. Bitcoin transactions are designed to be irreversible so it's important to be more careful with account security.
CoinJar uses Extended Validation SSL certificates. Please ensure you only log in through coinjar.com or coinjar.io and check for a green address bar when you enter your password. If you have accidentally divulged your password to an attacker, please change your password immediately.
What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Multi-Factor Authentication uses a points-based mechanism to authorise transactions. By verifying with different devices you have, combined with password-based login, you gain "security points" within the session. Verifications can be done by simply entering a verification code from an authenticator app, or receiving a text message. In the future, you will be able to fully customise security rules that require multiple devices to be verified at the same time for a transaction to occur. This will give CoinJar customers account protection and control even beyond bank-grade. We’ve outlined the steps for setting up Multi Factor Authentication on our blog. Make sure you take the time to set it up. It creates another layer of security that makes it hard for even the most experienced hacker to access your account.

Tanya: Exchange bitcoin di Indo yang kayak coinjar ada nggak?

Ada nggak tempat beli bitcoin yang nggak harus bidding di marketplace ala indodax gitu? Kalo di CoinJar, dia kasih exchange rate fix, mau beli jual berapapun dia pasti layani jadi udah kayak penukaran duit aja gitu.

Urging Coinjar to flip to Bitcoin Cash

Dear Coinjar,
It should be clear to Coinjar by now that the bulk of merchants have left Bitcoin Core and any remaining merchants find Bitcoin Core acceptance grossly untenable due to extraordinary fees, artificial congestion, and the deprecation of key merchant properties such as 0-conf.
Bitcoin Cash is gaining these merchants and rapidly accumulating the coveted network effect which has already begun to drive further merchant acceptance. Large Bitcoin Core customers such as myself have flipped completely to Bitcoin Cash use, ownership and promotion. My associates have flipped as well, many of which I introduced to Coinjar. Like theirs, my account with Coinjar is now idle and I can no longer recommend Coinjar or Bitcoin Core given its change in vision to a dead-end technology.
It should be clear to Coinjar that any merchant wishing to accept a crytocurrency has really only one choice given Bitcoin Cash's superior coin distribution, near zero fees, permanently uncongested design, instant 0-conf transactions, and a supportive community with many parallel implementations.
Bitcoin Cash is designed to be the first global currency and enjoys the vision and scaling capacity to readily achieve that goal with or without Coinjar's support. I urge Coinjar to flip to Bitcoin Cash and abandon the unfolding Bitcoin Core wreck in order to minimise further damage and regain relevance to your lost customers.

Hey r/Bitcoin - Help me convince CEO of CoinJar to enable Bitcoin withdrawals to latest Segwit wallets on CoinJar

I have been chasing this up with their customer support for a month, since I am unable to withdraw my bitcoin from Coinjar into a secure hardware wallet like my Ledger Nano S, where I am using a Segwit address.
After weeks of chasing, their customer support basically told me today that Coinjar has no idea of what even Segwit is.
In their own words:
"Our Engineering Team has spent the past few years focusing solely on bitcoin, however they've now built internal systems to handle additional cryptoassets.
CoinJar is currently in the process of rolling out support for [removed name of alts] to expand our current line up. This will be completed before the end of January. They haven't yet announced any plans of adding additional currencies beyond these three."
I am chasing this up on twitter with Coinjar CEO Asher Tan, but will need the help of all of you to convince him.

WARNING: NameTerrific that used to accept bitcoins has been abandoned by Ryan Zhou, cofounder of CoinJar

Ryan Zhou has abandoned NameTerrific (https://www.nameterrific.com) apparently since late 2013. He no longer attend to any support request sent to NameTerrific. Neither is he responding to emails sent to him separately in regards to NameTerrific.
See reports from other users here: 1) http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2216939 2) https://www.facebook.com/nameterrific 3) https://twitter.com/search?q=nameterrific
One of my domains is registered with NameTerrific as well and I haven't been able to transfer my domain out to a proper registrar as NameTerrific does not respond to my auth code request. I had previously registered my domain with NameTerrific as he accepts bitcoins.
Do not consider registering your domain with NameTerrific. You have been warned.
EDIT (March 3, 2014): For anyone following this issue. Here's the closing update. 24 hours later since Ryan stated he got the auth code issue fixed. I tried the given auth code and retried another one and both were simply invalid and got rejected by my new registrar. This is just a terrific mess.
EDIT (March 4, 2014): For anyone having similar issue with NameTerrific, the auth codes never worked. 2 weeks since my first support request with NameTerrific and 2 days since this public warning, apparently Ryan ([email protected]) had to manually transfer my domain to the TLD registrar. So I have finally regained full control of my domain. Thanks for the upvotes and bringing this post to the attention of the public.

Transferred $1000 worth of bitcoin to my Jaxx Wallet from coinjar. Nearly a day later and it still hasn’t shown up?

As the title says, transferred it over and still hasn’t appeared on my Jaxx Wallet even though it has left Coinjar. Double and triple checked I sent the right address and everything looks ok. I did read the help menu that said because the block chain is so congested it will take longer than normal, but it said it usually takes a few mins to a few hours. Any ideas on what has happened and what I can do?
